ARE SYSTEMIC ENZYMES LIKE DRINKING FROM THE “FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH”?
History of Systemic Enzymes
Orally administered Systemic Enzymes have a 50 YEAR HISTORY of wide spread medical use in Germany, Central Europe and Japan with over 150 million patients in Europe alone, having undergone enzyme therapy in the last 40 YEARS. There are over 200 peer-reviewed studies proving the absorption, therapeutic action and total lack of toxicity of systemic enzymes. Systemic Enzymes are used in Germany, Japan and Central Europe for many conditions, including medically approved conditions, that include: arthritis, inflammation, degenerated joints, injuries, tissue and nerve damage, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, heart disease, cardiovascular problems, blood clots, cysts, arterial plaque, circulation problems, arteriosclerosis, hardening of the arteries, peripheral vascular health, leg pain, cancer, brain degeneration, dementia, macular degeneration, blurred vision, fibrosis elimination, fat buildup in the blood and cells, body fat, diabetes and diabetic neuropathy, atrophied muscle and tissue, aging skin, scar tissue breakdown and elimination, non-living tissue elimination, leaky gut syndrome, loss of sex drive, and loss of energy*. Exciting ongoing Systemic Enzyme research continues to discover and uncover additional amazing health benefits derived from the use of orally taken Systemic Enzymes. Even to this day, no current prescription drug or substance has been discovered that can remove scar tissue as effectively as Systemic Enzymes *(Note* The use of Systemic Enzymes as used in Germany, Japan and Central Europe for the above listed conditions is not approved by the FDA in the United States.)
Systemic Enzymes can be divided into three major classifications.
(1) Traditional Systemic Enzymes
(2) Fermented Proteolytic Enzymes
(3) Beyond Systemic Enzymes
Traditional Systemic Enzymes
Traditional Systemic Enzymes are the original, proven effective, formulations from Germany, Japan and Central Europe. These traditionally are animal derived pancreatin blends and extracts containing trypsin extracts (from pancreatin), chymotrypsin extracts (from pancreatin), bromelain, papain, protease, amylase and lipase. Traditional Systemic Enzymes offer a wide spectrum of very effective anti-inflammation and anti-fibrosis benefits. Research shows that these animal based pancreatin blends and extracts can remain in the body up to 36 hours. Trypsin extracts and chymotrypsin extracts, used in Traditional Systemic Enzymes, are very expensive to include in formulations. Many current manufacturers of Systemic Enzymes completely omit trypsin extracts and chymotrypsin extracts from formulations due to the high cost of these ingredients. Many manufacturers are replacing traditional trypsin extracts and chymotrypsin extracts with lower cost fermented proteolytic enzymes. Traditional Systemic Enzyme formulas normally recommend using 20 to 30 tablets, capsules or caplets per day for maximum benefits.
Fermented Proteolytic Enzymes
Fermented Proteolytic Enzymes containing fermented fungal ingredients are rapidly gaining in popularity in the United States. A major reason for this is the use of fermented serrapeptase. Serrapeptase is derived from the microorganism known as Serratia E15, an enzyme naturally present in the silkworm intestine. Fermented serrapeptase has been clinically used in Europe and Asia for over twenty five years. Serrapeptase is an excellent ingredient to enhance the effectiveness of Systemic Enzyme formulations. It is both potent and economical. It is considerably lower in cost than trypsin extracts and chymotrypsin extracts. Clinical tests indicate that Serrapeptase remains in the body from 4 to 6 hours unlike animal based pancreatin enzymes and extracts such as trypsin and chymotrypsin which are still present in the body up to 36 hours. Fermented Proteolytic Enzyme Formulas normally recommend using 20 to 30 tablets, capsules or caplets per day for maximum benefits. Another popular fermented enzyme extract is nattokinase. Nattokinase is an enzyme extracted from a Japanese food called Natto. Natto is a cheese-like food made from fermented soybeans and is popular in Japan. Natto is produced by fermentation by adding the bacterium Bacillus natto to boiled soybeans. The resulting nattokinase enzyme is produced when the bacterium acts on the soybeans. Nattokinase is used as a powerful clot-buster and blood thinner.Caution: Hemophilics, and individuals who have a risk of hemorrhage, and those taking prescription blood thinners such as Coumadin® or Warfarin® should not take enzyme products containing nattokinase unless under a doctors’ supervision. As taking Nattokinase could potentially cause excess bleeding and intensify prescription medications to inhibit clotting, it is not included in the new Beyond Systemic Enzymes.
BEYOND SYSTEMIC ENZYMES
Beyond Systemic Enzymes is a modern breakthrough and is deemed the next generation of Systemic Enzymes. Doctors have prescribed and patients have used Systemic Enzymes for over 40 years with remarkable benefits. The one major complaint and drawback in the use of Systemic Enzymes has always been the high daily number of tablets, capsules or caplets needed to be taken. This is true for both Traditional Systemic Enzymes and the newer Fermented Proteolytic Enzymes. Patients do not want to take 20 to 30 tablets, capsules or caplets per day as required by leading products. For example, if a doctor recommends a Systemic Enzyme product that costs $89 for 180 tablets and 20 tablets per day are required, this breaks down to $9.88 cost per day. In just 2 months the patient pays $593 for Systemic Enzymes. If the patient uses 30 tablets per day, it now jumps to $889 for a 2 months’ supply.Doctors and patients alike, desire an effective Systemic Enzyme product requiring many less pillsper day. Beyond Systemic Enzymes solved this problem. Beyond Systemic Enzymes suggests only 3 tablets per day on the bottle. Another area of concern of doctors and patients is confusing advertising. Many manufacturers eagerly post advertisements claiming to offer new products superior to Traditional Systemic Enzymes featuring fermented serrapeptase as “Newly Discovered Technology”. This is very misleading as fermented serrapeptase is not “Newly Discovered Technology” and has, in fact, been clinically used in Europe and Asia for over 25 years. Both Traditional Systemic Enzymes and Fermented Proteolyic Systemic Enzymes offer certain advantages over each other. Traditional Systemic Enzymes have a long and clinically proven effective history of success with over 150 million patients in Europe alone spanning 40 years. Traditional Systemic Enzymes offer wide spectrum coverage and remain in the body for periods up to 36 hours. On the other hand, Fermented Proteolyic Systemic Enzymes do offer potent products at much lower costs. The downside of most Fermented Proteolyic Systemic Enzymes is the much shorter life in the body clinically tested to only be 4 to 6 hours. This alone requires the daily use of a significant amount of tablets, capsules or caplets to keep the product in the system. Dr. Charles Mesko, US Patent Holder and product formulator, solved this dilemma by creating “Beyond Systemic Enzymes” to include the best of both worlds. Proprietary blends of Traditional Systemic Enzyme blends based on clinically proven formulas used in Germany, Japan and Central Europe were created and combined with fermented serrapeptase and additional proprietary ingredients to create a new category of synergistically advanced Systemic Enzymes. This invention is advanced beyond existing formulations and was appropriately named “Beyond Systemic Enzymes. Dr. Mesko included a powerful enzyme in the Beyond Systemic Enzymes formula known as Super Oxide Dismutase, also called SOD. Scientists discovered the amazing properties of Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD) over 35 years ago. Natural Alternative Doctors refer to SOD as the most potent antioxidant ever discovered. SOD has the ability to neutralize one of the most destructive and damaging free radicals known to mankind called “SUPEROXIDE”. Research links superoxide caused DNA cellular mutation to : rapid cellular aging, joint inflammation, liver inflammation, tumor and cancer growth, cardiovascular disease, heart disease, lung allergies, cataracts, retinal ulcers, macular degeneration, vision disorders, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, cholesterol imbalance, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, respiration disorders, mitochondria mutations, periodontal inflammation, neurological disorders, susceptibility to environmental toxins, compromised immune system, lower T-Cell production, weakened organs after burn injuries, accelerated brain swelling following head injury, excess lactic acid in muscles, susceptibility to sunburn, damaged skin and other health problems. The Super Oxide Dismutase (SOD) enzyme, as amazing as it is to neutralize the destructive superoxide free radical, is seldom included in oral tablet or capsule formulations. The reason is that SOD is rapidly destroyed by stomach acid. Dr. Mesko, known world-wide for his ability to formulate advanced products that by-pass destructive stomach acid, protected the Beyond Systemic Enzymes tablets with a special multi-layered coating that shields the special proprietary ingredients from destructive stomach acid thus allowing maximum absorption for maximum benefits. Remarkably, the Beyond Systemic Enzymes suggested daily use is only 3 tablets per day!
