Testosterone, hGH & L-Dopa
 •  What is Testosterone?

Testosterone (androgen) is a hormone.  Hormones are powerful chemicals that help keep our bodies working normally.  The term hormone is derived from the Greek word, hormo, which means to set in motion.  And that’s precisely what hormones do.  They stimulate, regulate, and control the function of various tissues and organs.  Made by specialized groups of cells within structures called glands, hormones are involved in almost every biological process, including sexual reproduction, growth, metabolism, and immune function.  These glands, including the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, ovaries and testes, release various hormones into the body as needed.

The principal male hormone and an anabolic steroid, testosterone is mainly produced in the male testes and female ovaries, with very small amounts  also secreted by the adrenal glands.  The Leydig cells also produce two other androgens that are of lesser potency and are made in smaller quantities.  In both males and females, it plays key roles in health and well-being.  Examples of its benefits could include:  enhanced libido, improved energy, strengthened immune function, protection against osteoporosis, building of lean muscle, improved sexual performance, enhanced sex drive, improved mood, better memory, lower cholesterol, protection against heart disease, reduced body fat, lower blood pressure, fewer wrinkles, less cellulite, protection against muscle atrophy, improved kidney function, accelerated wound healing, better bone density, and reduced stress levels.

Testosterone production declines naturally with age, and in men, testosterone begins to decline at about age 25.  Low testosterone may result from disease or damage to the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, or testicles that inhibit hormone secretion and testosterone production.  Testosterone has a number of effects on muscles, bones, the central nervous system, bone marrow, the prostate, and sexual function.  It regulates the normal growth and development of the male sex organs, and promotes other male characteristics such as body hair, muscle mass, and a deeper voice.  Depending on age, insufficient testosterone production can lead to low sex drive, little to no interest in sex, erectile dysfunction, memory loss, irritability, poor stress reactions, weight gain, low metabolism, poor bone development, underdeveloped genitalia, diminished virility, tiredness, and muscle loss.   On average, the adult male body produces about twenty to thirty times the amount of testosterone that an adult female's body does.  However, the decline in testosterone production as men age is not as dramatic as the drop in women's estrogen production with the onset of menopause.  Even so, testosterone decline is a serious issue for many older men.  Among other problems, declining testosterone production is strongly associated with impotency and libido problems.  Top

  What exactly is hGH?

Human Growth Hormone (hGH) is receiving national and world-wide attention due to the large numbers of famous celebrities and professional sport figures featured in the news and on talk shows for using hGH to rejuvenate their bodies and enhance performance.  Physicians and clinics have been, and are, openly prescribing hGH to individuals from all walks of life attempting to slow or reverse the adverse signs of aging, as well as those who desire an ecceleration of the healing process for soft-tissue and muscle injuries.

A little History of hGH:  Human Growth Hormone, or Somatotropin, is the most abundant hormone produced by the Pituitary Gland.  It is responsible for proper growth and development until we mature as adults.  Once we reach our adult height, growth hormone continues to regulates nearly every organ in the body.

hGH was first discovered in the 1920's.  It became popular in 1958 after use at the New England Medical Center in Boston.  Injected into a growth-stunted child, the child grew taller.  At that time, growth hormone was extracted from the pituitaries of cadavers.  As heat destroyed this pituitary extract, it could not be pasteurized and the problem of transmitting disease also existed.  In 1986 the Eli Lilly and Company developed Humatrope.  This new 'fountain of youth' drug was identical in structure to actual Human Growth Hormone and solved the problem of transmitting disease.  Humatrope reduced body fat, increased lean muscle and muscle tone (without exercise), removed wrinkles, eliminated cellulite, rejuvenated the organs of the body, reduced fatigue, lowered blood pressure, improved cholesterol, enhanced sexual performance, balanced other hormones, and virtually reversed the signs and ill-effects of aging.

In 1990, The New England Journal of Medicine astounded the medical world when it released the results of a 6 month clinical study on hGH administered to a group of men aged 61-81.  These men, without any exercise, lost an average of 14% body fat, gained 8.8% lean muscle, regained lost bone mass, thickened their skin by 7%, lost wrinkles, and regrew failing liver tissue by l9%.  In summary, hGH returned flabby and frail old men to their younger, healthier, sleeker selves.  It was estimated that this 6-month therapy reversed twenty years of aging!  Top

•  Facts about L-DOPA:  Why is it so beneficial?

L-Dopa is the most researched amino acid in the world (Over 250,000 various worldwide studies have been conducted on L-dopa.)  For the past 45 years, L-dopa (also known as levodopa) has been the best known treatment and most widely prescribed medicine for Parkinson’s disease.  L-dopa is not a hormone and is not an artificial drug created by a chemist.  It is a natural amino acid derived from food sources.

L-Dopa is the remarkable precursor for the needed and beneficial neurotransmitter dopamine.  Clinically proven, it is one of the few substances that crosses the blood brain barrier, converting into Dopamine, and thereby stimulatiing the hypothalamus and pituitary to release and increase the the level of growth hormone in the body.  Dopamine also regulates motor control, sex drive, immune function, fat gain and loss, lean muscle gain, bone density, energy levels, and the ability to sleep soundly.

Studies in 1970  discovered and clinically proved that Parkinson’s disease patients using L-Dopa had significant increases in plasma hGH levels.  This was a wonderful and breakthrough discovery that offered those afflicted with this dreadful and devastating disease hope for an improved quality of life.  L-Dopa supplementation was later tested on children that were short in stature and was found to significantly elevate the hGH levels.  Other clinical studies found that L-Dopa supplementation in healthy young adults (ages 31 to 44) increased hGH levels by a staggering 221% and healthy older adults ( ages 64 to 88) increased their hGH levels by an impressive 167%!

Between the ages of 30 to 40, dopamine containing neurons in the human brain begin declining.  This is a universal characteristic of the aging process.  A shocking epidemic of brain dopamine neuron deficiency is now occurring in much younger men and women.  This chemical toxicity is believed to be attributed to the worldwide use of pesticides, insecticides, cleaning products and supplies, synthetic clothes, plastics, chemical toxins, environmental pollutants, and additives in processed foods.

The use of L-Dopa has proved to be an effective stimulator of Human Growth Hormone release and therefore a highly effective and viable alternative for those unwilling to inject prescrioption hGH or those financially hindered from aquiring these more expensive treatments.
